Cute, But Improvements Needed

The mobile is super cute, but I have three issues with the design.
First, it doesn't fit my Pottery Barn crib because the wooden sides are too thick. It only fits on a crib with thin (< 1 inch) side panels.
Second, the instructions are sooo bad. I had no idea how to assemble the wrench bit at the bottom. The parts simply do not fit together.... and I'm an engineer.
Lastly, the wrench bits that tighten to your crib aren't smooth so they will 100% scratch the paint off whatever you clamp them to. I tried flipping them around... it worked, but it looked wrong.
